Apple's WWDC25 (Worldwide Developers Conference) Keynote did not disappoint, unveiling exciting software updates and features across all its devices, including a stunning Liquid Glass design and enhanced Apple AI technology.
Apple's LiquidGlass revolutionises its ecosystem with a sleek, transparent, and intuitive design.
Inspired by VisionOS, it features "glass edges" and transparent icons, creating a harmonious user experience that dynamically reacts to movement.

Rounded corners optimise screen space, and colours shift with content, mirroring glass. This deep hardware-software integration empowers developers to create highly responsive apps.
Apple’s consistent design extends to naming: all platforms will now unify under Version 26 (e.g., iOS 26, macOS 26), a long-overdue change.
At the heart of iOS 26 is Apple AI, offering powerful new features. Live Translation provides real-time conversation translation across Messages, FaceTime, and Phone, even with Android users. Apple Music now includes lyric translation and pronunciation support.

Messages gains customisable backgrounds, group chat polls and screening tools for spam detection.

Image Playground and Genmoji offer expanded options and a new Games App centralises your gaming.
The Phone app now boasts a unified layout for Favourites, Recents, and Voicemails, complemented by Call Screening, which silences unwanted calls, and Hold Assistant, which waits on hold for you and notifies you when an agent is available.
The iPad just became more loveable thanks to its biggest update yet. Key apps are making the jump, like Preview (from Mac) and the Journal App (from iPhone).
A new windowing system enhances multitasking while retaining the iPad's simplicity. The Files app also gains macOS-level customisation.

For developers, audio/video workflows are accelerated, allowing studio-quality audio recording via AirPods and background processing of intensive tasks.
Named after California's picturesque Lake Tahoe, macOS Tahoe seamlessly integrates numerous features from iOS 26 while introducing exciting new capabilities.
Live Activities from your iPhone now appear directly in the menu bar, enabling direct interaction with your Mac via iPhone Mirroring.

The full Phone app has finally arrived on the desktop, and Spotlight has been significantly enhanced with Intelligent Actions, allowing users to define precise parameters for tasks, such as drafting an email with a specific recipient and subject.
Exciting updates have also rolled out to other areas of the Apple ecosystem.
WatchOS redesigns the Workout app with Workout Buddy, using Apple Intelligence for personalised fitness.

Apple TV gains Liquid Glass for unobtrusive playback controls and individual user profiles.
tvOS also enhances Apple Music, allowing sing-alongs using iPhone as a mic.

visionOS introduces customisable spatial widgets and more realistic Personas. Businesses can now share devices with secure eye/hand data and "for-your-eyes-only" privacy.

Apple software updates are like Christmas morning, igniting excitement with new features and customisation options. These innovations become a topic of shared excitement, uniting friends, families, and entire communities in discussion.
A developer beta is currently live, and a public beta is scheduled for July.
The highly anticipated Version 26 software update will roll out to all users this Autumn, so make sure your software updates notifications are on !
